As a cat owner, there are certain things you should always have handy. Because although being a cat owner is a lot of hard work, with a little bit of preparation you can make your life a little easier. Tons of litter is a must, plenty of food and toys too, but here are a few other things that I just couldn’t live without.
1. Air Filters
My obsession with my cat is real, but as much as I love him, I care about my health too. So to make sure that the air we breathe in on a daily basis is as clean and fresh as possible, Joe has always made sure to buy the best HEPA air filters out there. The filters work to trap harmful particles like dust mites, smoke, pollen, and pet dander, which has ultimately helped keep our allergies at bay. Definitely recommend filtering your air and replacing those filters regularly.
2. Stain Remover
I absolutely love this guy, but boy does he have a knack for spilling stuff! I can’t even leave a glass of water out of the counter because if I turn around for two seconds, theres a 99% chance that he’ll have already knocked it over. I’ve learned this the hard way though, and over the years he’s managed to spill plenty of soda and wine all over the carpets. So one of the things I keep nearby at all times is stain remover. Because as nice as your kitty is, at some point or another they’re bound to go crazy, and if you want to save your carpets or furniture, that’ll usually do the trick.
3. Automated Litter Box
Joe and I have very busy schedules, and the last thing we want to do when we get home every day is scoop litter. So to help us with that, we’ve invested in a fancy automated litter box, and it’s amazing because it allows us to only have to change the litter once or twice a week. Now that’s a bit more manageable for us.
4. Automated Cat Feeder
I guess we’re fans of all things automated, but let me tell you Graham’s automated cat feeder is probably one of the best things we’ve ever bought. We can control the feeder through an app on our phones, and we can set the food to dispense on a set schedule. Graham loves it because he’s learned to expect his food at the same time every day and even when Joe and I are out and about, he never misses a meal. That’s one spoiled kitty right there.
5. Lots of Lint Rollers
I probably have 52 different lint rollers all over my house. Because otherwise, I’d never be able to wear black clothes or sit on my couch with how much my cat sheds. Like, I honestly don’t even know if the amount of shedding he does is normal but it’s INSANE! Hair’s always flying all over the place!
So yea, these Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Rollers are my saving grace when it comes to getting rid of pet hair. I keep them all over my house so I don’t look like a crazy person after hanging out with my kitty.
Yea, A lot
Because this little dude LOVES to cuddle. He wants to cuddle with me all the time. But if I didn’t have my lint rollers handy, that’d kind of be a problem.
But let’s get real…who the heck wants cat hair all over their house? Not this lady. So I literally have a Scotch-Brite™ lint roller in every single room in my house to get rid of all the cat hair ASAP and continue going about my day.
I love that I found this BIG Scotch-Brite™ lint roller because it’s perfect for getting the cat hair off my couch. I have a light colored couch so the hair isn’t as visible. But when I’m having guests over, I like to pass the lint roller all over it to make it as hair-free as possible.
Just a few swipes with this and all the hair’s all gone! Total life saver.
It also works amazingly well on my pillows! I spent the weekend taking out my Christmas decorations and these pillows had lint and hair all over them. Not anymore!
So yea, these lint rollers are pretty amazing. I love that not only do they grab all the cat hair, but they’re also great at picking up things like crumbs, sand, and glitter. And since I’m a fan of anything that makes my life a little easier, I’m keeping a stash of these with me at all times!

OMG, I super need to try that lint roller. I have German Shepherd, AKA a German Shedder as they are affectionately referred to , and I could create new dogs out of all the fur he sheds! The current lint rollers I use barely pick up anything!
i totally agree! love the cat not the shedding!
I actually don’t have an automated feeder for EITHER of my cats…they get so dang excited for mealtime, I just love the excitement in the moment! Ha!

Lint rollers are a constant in our household….we literally cannot leave the house without lint rolling ourselves off. LOL. #perksofbeingacatmom
Thanks for sharing such great article about pets. The social adaptations of dogs and humans are similar enough that dogs can live perfectly happy lives surrounded by humans and vice versa. Cats are pampered with the best of treat and medical care, frequently sleeping in their owners’ comfortable sofa.Do you have any other articles about dogs?
