Amazon Prime Day 2018
Okay, guys! Where my Amazon Prime lovers at?! ??♀️ Seriously, Joe and I have been Amazon Prime members for years now, and there’s a package delivered to my door at least once a week. I’m not even kidding! We buy everything off of Amazon Prime because #1 – I’m super lazy and hate going to the stores and #2 – two day shipping!! Apparently, I’m also super impatient.
So since there’s all this hype around Amazon Prime day and it can be a little overwhelming, I’m breaking things down for you and sharing my favorite deals from the sale!
What You Need To Know
This is an event. Even though prices are pretty decent on Amazon year-round (believe me, I’m the cheapest MOFO ever and don’t ever spend a ton of money on anything) – on Amazon Prime Day, a bunch of products go on crazy sale for just a day and a half. The only downside is that the sale is only available for Amazon Prime members, so if you’re not a member yet, you might wanna sign up ASAP. Believe me, it’s totally worth it. We order from Amazon so much we pretty much make up the annual fee in what we save on shipping within a couple of months.
When does the sale start?
Amazon Prime Day starts today! July 16th at 3pm EST and runs through tomorrow, July 17th.
Best Deals
I’ll be doing my best to keep these updated as the sale goes on, but right now, here’s what’s worth checking out! I’ve already got a bunch of deals I’m watching and I can’t wait for them to go live! Remember, deals are happening at different times throughout the sale, so as time goes by, new stuff will pop up that you might wanna buy!
Electronics
Amazon Echo Dot: On sale for $29.99; Regularly $49.99 (Save $20) – We have one in our kitchen and play Jeopardy every day lol we also ask Alexa to tell us jokes and that’s pretty entertaining!
Amazon Fire TV: On sale for $19.99; Regularly $39.99 (50% off) – A lot of people use this in place of cable, fyi
Echo Show: On sale for $129.99; Regularly $229.99 (Save $100) – It’s like an Alexa but with a display…super cool and perfect for putting on your bedside table or in your kitchen. I saw it at the Amazon Pop Up store and thought it was pretty awesome. I don’t think I’d pay full price for it but at this sale price it’s super tempting.
Kindle Paperwhite: On sale for $79.99; Regularly $119.99 (Save $40) – If you’re looking for a good reader to take to the beach this summer, this might be the perfect opportunity to grab one for a great price.
Fire HD 8 For Kids: On sale for $89.99; Regularly $129.99 (Save $40) – I’m the bad mother that lets her 6 month old daughter watch tv, so this is the tablet we have for Riley. We bought it for a couple road trips we’ve had recently and I love this thing. I paid full price though, so I wish I would have grabbed it at this sale price.
Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Headphones: On sale for $125; Regularly $299.99 (Save $174) – Dear God this is an amazing deal! Joe has the wireless ones and they’re the best headphones I’ve ever used. These are wired but the price makes it worth it. No way am I spending $300 on headphones, but this sale price is so so good!
SENSO Wireless Headphones: On sale for $27.98; Regularly $99.97 (Save $71.99) – Another great deal on headphones for a smaller budget! Perfect for working out – or any other reason since I never work out lol
Cricut Express Air 2: On sale for $194.99; Regularly $279.99 (Save $85) – If you’ve been wanting one of these babies for a while now, this sale price is golden.
Home
Ring Doorbell: On sale for $174, Regularly $249 (Save $75) – We have this doorbell but we bought it at BJ’s. Love the fact that you can see who’s at your front door via an app on your phone.
Toshiba 50-inch 4k Fire TV Edition : On sale for $289.99; Regularly $399.99 (Save $110)
Himalayan Salt Lamp: On sale for $16.99; Regularly $30.98 (Save 45%) – I have one of these in my family room and I feel like it’s the perfect home decor item.
Instant Pot: On sale for $58.99; Regularly $99.95 (Save 41%) – Such a good product! Now that we’ve been meal prepping more often, having a rice cooker is so handy! This is a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauce, yogurt maker, and warmer so um… it basically does everything! LOL
iRobot Roomba: On sale for $229.99; Regularly $349.99 (Save $120) – Joe and I are legit talking about buying this right now lol we’ve been wanting one of these for ages and now might be the perfect time to get one. We need it big time now that our little one is about to start crawling!
Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner: On sale for $364.99; Regularly $499.99 (Save $135) – Ughhh I’ve been dying for a cordless vacuum and everyone knows that Dyson vacuums are kinda the best.
Keurig K-Cafe: On sale for $109.99; Regularly $179.99 (Save $70) – Perfect for all you coffee lovers out there! Think about it – at $100 ish, that’s just like 10 trips to Starbucks.
Contigo Travel Mugs: On sale for $21.99; Regularly $31.40 (Save 31%) – Once you’ve brewed your coffee, you need somewhere to put it, and these travel mugs are perfect. You get two of them for a little over twenty bucks so I think that’s pretty decent. (Black + Silver ones are the cheapest).
Samsonite Two-Piece Luggage Set: On sale for $199.99; Regularly $329.99 (Save 64%) – I’ve been needing to upgrade my luggage set and this might be it. Love the 360 degree spinner wheels because pulling luggage without those wheels is a total pain in the butt.
Beauty
Philips Sonicare Toothbrush: On sale for $99.95; Regularly $199.99 (Save 50%) – Le fancy toothbrush for the guy (or girl) who hates the dentist and doesn’t want to be told they need to brush better at their next appointment.
ClariSonic Facial Cleansing Brush System: On sale for $79.00; Regularly $129.99 (Save $50) – I’ve been wanting to try one of these forever!
Baby
Vava Nightlight: On sale for $11.99; Regularly $17.99 (Save 33%) – This is the nightlight we have in Riley’s room and we love it! You touch it and it turns on and off and you can adjust the brightness. One of our baby essentials for sure.
Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube: On sale for $16.39; Regularly $24.99 (Save 34%) – Such a cute baby toy!
Fisher Price Baby Dome: On sale for $43.88; Regularly $69.99 (Save 37%) – We have this for Riley and we love it! It’s perfect for the beach and we’ll be taking it with us on our beach vacay later this month! It totally closes too in case you want baby to be nice and enclosed in there.
Newborn to Toddler Baby Rocker: On sale for $35.54; Regularly $54.99 (Save 35%) – We have a rocker for Riley (not this same one) but it’s one of our baby essentials because every once in a while you’ll need to put your little one down while you’re doing something. I keep ours in our bathroom, that way I have somewhere to put Riley down whenever I’m getting ready.
Rainforest Music & Lights Deluxe Gym: On sale for $39.89; Regularly $59.95 (Save $20.06) – This is the cutest little activity mat but some of these can be super pricey! This price point is awesome and given that your little one will spend so much time on these, it’s totally worth it.
Fisher Price 3-in-1 Activity Center: On sale for $62.91; Regularly $99.99 (Save $37.08) – This is so practical. Riley’s been using her activity center for a couple months now and she loves it. This one’s great because it transitions with your baby as they get older, so it starts off as a mat, then becomes a jumper, and then a little station they can stand around and play with. So cute!
Rock-N-Play: On sale for $38.93; Regularly $59.99 (Save $21.06) – This is a life saver for so many mamas with babies that don’t sleep well. We actually used this for Riley when she was about 2 months old but she didn’t love it (she was a TERRIBLE sleeper and nothing rally worked besides the sleep training we did). That being said, tons of mamas SWEAR BY THIS, so it might be worth trying if you need a good night’s rest.
Soothing Motions Bassinet: On sale for $66.38; Regularly $149.99 (Save $83.61) – This deal is pretty unreal because that’s an amazing price for a bassinet. We actually bought the Halo bassinet for Riley and looking back, I wish we had gotten this one instead. The Halo was just way too pricey and this would have worked just as well at a fraction of the price.
Much as I wish I could love Amazon – I’m actually on a permanent boycott of their services. Until they launch Jeff Bezos into the sun and grant ALL their employees around the world safe and fair working conditions, I will not be giving them my money. I could not, in good conscience, accept a package that came from a facility where employees are not allowed bathroom breaks and actually die of heat exhaustion in unsafe environments.
Of course, I understand that I can’t impose my moral stance of Amazon onto everyone, but I do think it’s very important to be mindful of whom we’re buying from.
