If you like having teeth, going to the dentist is pretty important. If you don’t like having teeth, well, that makes you kinda weird, and I don’t think we can be friends.
Okay, okay, now in all seriousness, yes, you have to go to the dentist. But finding a good dentist? Well, that can be a bit of headache sometimes. I mean, who do we go to? Do they take our insurance? What’s it going to cost us? The struggle is real my friends. This whole adulting thing isn’t always fun.
Do you remember the days when your mom would just make all of your appointments FOR YOU? Gosh, those were the good old days. Now it’s up to us to make these appointments ourselves, and it can be super annoying/frustrating at times.
This is me, btw… reminding myself to make my dentist appointment because I have the WORST short-term memory. I’m also a new mom, so I’m sure that has something to do with it.
Anyway, as much as I hate having to make these appointments myself, I’m so happy that I stumbled upon The Smile Generation because it makes the whole process of finding a dentist SO MUCH EASIER.
In case you’ve never heard of them, The Smile Generation is an online referral service that helps you find a trusted, local dentist right away, and they’ve got over 650 locations nationwide, each with their own specialties.
From orthodontics to teeth whitening (which I need so badly thanks to the insane amounts of coffee I’ve been drinking), there are a bunch of Smile Generation®-trusted offices that can help you with your oral health care needs.
They’ve even got pediatric dental offices for the kiddos. In case you missed the announcement on Instagram the other day, this little cutie finally cut her first tooth, and pretty soon I’ll need to take her to the dentist for a checkup!
BRB – casually crying over here because she’s growing up so fast!
Oh and even better, The Smile Generation has a couple of payment options to help you afford the treatment you’re looking for. The “My Smile Dental Plan” is a discount dental plan that gives you access to discounted fees, and Smile Generation Financial also makes affordable financing options available.
Definitely worth looking into because dental services can cost a pretty penny. Again – isn’t adulting fun? Eh, not so much.
Alright, so how about I show you how easy it is to find a dentist using their website, huh? Seriously, their website is so user-friendly and straightforward that even my grandparents could find a dentist using this thing! Believe me – that’s really saying something.
So the fist thing you have to do is head on over to The Smile Generation. Then click on the dropdown box where it says, “I’m looking for…” and you’ll have a bunch of options to choose from.
I wanted to search for a dentist for Riley, so I selected pediatric dentistry and then I clicked on the little arrow to find offices nearby. You can also search by a specific city – super helpful if you’re out of town/on vacation and have a dental emergency.
So once I hit the search icon, the service did its thing and populated the offices that met my criteria. Looks like pediatric dentistry isn’t something that’s available everywhere, but at least now I know who to call.
I’m able to see the office location, their phone number, and the reviews they’ve gotten (super important if I’m going to take my child there).
I can then click on that yellow button that says “make an appointment” and I’m taken to a page that looks like this:
Umm… yessss! How easy is that?
With a little one these days, I don’t have time to be waiting on the phone, being put on hold for 35 mins to make an appointment. This totally streamlines the process and makes it pretty painless.
You can also do it on your phone, btw. Same thing. Just navigate to the website, make your selections, and book your appointment.
And that’s really it! See, it’s not so hard after all!
Isn’t technology awesome?!
So if you’re in dire need of a cleaning or just want your teeth to be a little whiter in time for your next vacay, check out The Smile Generation and let them help you find the right dentist to take care of ya.
FYI, this smile was years in the making with a ton of help from clear braces my Junior year of high school. They were NOT pretty back then, but they were so darn worth it!
PS – these days, I have a lot to be smiling about being home with this little babe, so believe me – I’ll be making sure my smile is on point for the endless photoshoots I have scheduled for the next 546,772 years!
So what do you guys think? Isn’t that such an easy way to find a dentist? When was the last time you went to one, and on a scale of 1-10, how awful was it? Let me know in the comments!
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of CLEVER and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
I haven’t been to a dentist for at least a decade – and the reasons behind that are so varied – from being homeless for a while to having no dental insurance to being out of the country, etc.
So this resource honestly comes at the perfect time, because even though my provider doesn’t offer insurance benefits, I still need healthcare, ya feel? 🙂
