Hey guys! Happy Friday! I’ve been wanting to start these monthly round-up posts for a while now, so I’m finally getting to it! I thought it’d be fun to share my favorite products and things I’m loving every month, so without further adieu, here are my June favorites!
Beauty:
Sunin Hair Lightener: I raved all about Sunin in a previous post, but over the past month I’ve used it a few more times and still love it just as much. As a new momma, I honestly haven’t been to the hair salon in over 6 months because a. it’s expensive, and b. I really don’t have the time to. But to add a little dimension to my hair without even leaving my house, I spray my hair with SunIn and then dry my hair like I normally do. It’s heat-activated by the sun (or your hair dryer) and it conditions your hair while it lightens it. I’ve never been a fan of using heavy duty chemicals in my hair, so this is perfect because it brings out my natural highlights and it’s alcohol-free. Easy DIY highlights just in time for summer!
It Cosmetics CC+ Cream: I’ve been using this product for over a year now, and it’s one of my all-time favorites. But I love using it the most during the summertime because it gives me a nice dewey look that I think is perfect for the hot summer months. I apply it with one of my It Cosmetics brushes (their brushes are amazing, btw) and then I add a little bit of loose powder to set it in place.
Maybelline Lemonade Craze Palette: Maybelline sent me this palette and at first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. Sometimes their palettes are total misses for me, but this one I loved! First of all, it’s super affordable, and second of all, it’s got the perfect colors for summer. Warm tones, shimmer tones, and the shade “main squeeze” can also be used as a highlight. I’ve also been using the dark brown shade to fill in my brows with an angle brush and it works so well. Definitely worth trying out if you’re looking for a warm toned palette.
Lakeshore Dry Goods Hair Towel: Okay, can we just talk about this flamingo hair towel? I had seen this small shop on Instagram and fell in love. I thought the prints were so much fun and I thought the towel was so practical. Whenever I jump out of the shower, I tend to not be able to dry my hair right at that moment, so I used to twirl my hair up in my normal-sized towel which was always super bulky and would topple over after a few minutes. This towel is first of all super cute, but it’s also lightweight and perfect for absorbing that extra water until I’m ready to dry my hair. Love love love this.
Fashion:
Target Slides: I picked up these sandals from Target’s A New Day line when I was up in Orlando a couple months ago, but they’ve been my go-to shoes ever since. I legit wear them almost every single day because I really don’t own comfier sandals an they’re so darn cute. I live for those sequins and I wish they’d come out in a few more colors. Absolutely obsessed.
RBX Leggings: Okay, I’ve gotten so many Instagram DMs asking me where I got these leggings from and it’s so funny because I bought them at BJ’s! I’m working with BJ’s on a sponsored post that’ll be up in a couple weeks and as part of the project, I had to buy some clothes at the wholesaler. I honestly never thought I’d find something this cute, but these are my new favorite leggings and I just want to wear them all the time. The brand does have a couple different pairs of leggings on Amazon though (look how cute these are), so you might want to do a little Amazon searching in case you’re interested. Mine are a size small and the material is such great quality.
Household:
Chemex: I thought my husband was insane for buying this thing, but now that we’ve been using it, I’m so glad he did. When I asked him what the heck it was, he told me it was “a hipster way of brewing coffee.” LOL so descriptive, right? Long story short it’s how we’re brewing our coffee these days and supposedly it makes the coffee taste a little less bitter. I honestly can’t tell you if that’s true or not, but I do like that it’s made our coffee time a little more special. Does that make sense? Now it’s more like a ritual that we look forward to, plus, I think the design looks so cool in our kitchen.
Baby:
Puj Kneeler: Okay, so this item is a game-changer. If you don’t have a bath kneeler and you have a baby, go get one. I used to dread giving Riley her bath because my knees would hurt from kneeling outside the tub while I bathed her. But earlier this month my momma bought me this mat and I was like, “why did I not have one of these sooner?” Now bath time is so much more pleasant. Thank goodness.
Owlet: If you haven’t been following along on my YouTube channel, this month we started sleep training Riley, and this thing has been a lifesaver. Now that Riley’s sleeping in her own room, I love that I’m able to monitor her heart rate and oxygen levels right from my phone. I’m definitely of one of those super-anxious first-time paranoid moms, so I can’t say enough good things about the Owlet. I did a full review of it on my channel in case you want to check it out here.
Baby Einstein Sound Book: Now that Riley’s six months old, it finally seems like she’s starting to like books! I used to try reading to her and she’d immediately shut the book closed with her tiny little hands. Now she’s seemed to have gained a bit of an interest, and I’m really happy about that because I love reading to her. Right now her favorite is this sound book from Baby Einstein, so I’m thinking about getting her a few more. We have quite a few regular books, but I think that the ones that make noises and play music might just be a little more entertaining for her.
Alva Baby Bibs: Since Riley started eating solids this month, we’ve been using bibs a lot more often! She’s a super messy eater and the food gets all over the place, but these bibs make things so much easier. I actually mentioned them in my newborn essentials video because we love them that much. They’re super absorbent, easy to throw in the wash, and they’re also pretty darn cute.
Reading:
Breathe Mama Breathe: I’ve been trying to make more time for reading this month, and although I normally listen to my books on Audible (you can get a free trial here), I have this physical book right next to my bed and I’ve been trying to read a chapter every night. As a new mom, I’m still feeling super overwhelmed some days, so this book reminds me of the importance of mindfulness and it helps me wind down after a really stressful day.
Eating:
SoDelicious Non-Dairy Yogurts: Joe and I completed the Whole 30 program earlier this month, so as soon as we did, I went back to eating my SoDelicious yogurts. These are my all-time favorite yogurts and they’re really how I prefer to start off my day. For breakfast I grab the vanilla one, add some granola and some fruit and I’m good to go! If you haven’t tried these, you have to!
Watching:
Amazon Prime: If you’re looking for a couple new shows to watch, I highly recommend Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton. Joe and I just binge-watched this second season (8 episodes) and it was so good! I’ve got a thing for Billy Bob, so that might play a small role in all that, but I do think it was a great show. You can also go back and watch the first season if you haven’t already.
Netflix: Now on Netflix, we devoured this show called Safe. It’s a British show, so prepare yourself for the British accents, but Michael C. Hall (the guy who played Dexter) stars in it. Despite the fact that it’s so weird to hear him talking in a British accent, this show was really great! Tons of mystery, suspense, and you really don’t get the answers you’re looking for until the very last episode. We really liked it.
