Hands down, this has been the boldest year of my life. I got married, moved into a new house, and in June, my first book will be available!
That’s right! This little millennial blogger over here was bold enough to go after her dream of writing a book, and in a couple months, I get to see it come to life.
I couldn’t be happier about it.
So today, I’m giving you a behind the scenes look into my bold life as a blogger (and now author).
Because a lot of times, when I tell people that I blog, they don’t quite understand how much work goes into it. I tell them how much money I’ve been able to make, and they’re always like “damn, you’re so lucky!”
And I am lucky. I am blessed. But mostly because I put in a whole lot of hours and work almost non-stop.
I’ve got big dreams, I’ve got bold dreams, and I’m gunna make them happen.
But that doesn’t mean it’s gunna be easy by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s going to be hard. It’s going to be grueling. I’d put my money on the fact that I’m gunna cry. I’m gunna have sleepless nights, and then I’m gunna cry some more.
But dude, it’s gunna be so worth it!
So yea, here’s what a typical day in my life looks like at the moment. YAY… #teamnosleep
5:45am: My alarm goes off.
6:00am: After hitting snooze 15 times, I finally drag my butt out of bed.
6:00-7:00am: Lots of stuff happens here while I get ready for work, but I always start off brushing my teeth and using Listerine COOL MINT® because I can’t stand bad breath in the morning.
This stuff’s just part of my everyday routine at this point, and I love it so much. It kills 99% of germs that lead to gum disease and provides 24-hour germ protection. Not only that, but it reduces 52% more plaque than brushing and flossing alone, and given that I JUST finished paying off my root canal from a year ago, I’m doing everything I can these days to keep my teeth healthy.
Once that’s done, I spend the rest of my “getting ready” hour to shower, blow-dry my hair, slap my face on, and get dressed.
7:00am-8:00am. I’m out the door and fighting through traffic for an hour to get to work. But as much as I hate the drive, I typically use that hour to catch up on my fave podcasts which help me with my book launch and my blogging. Right now, I’m addicted to Patt Flynn’s Smart Passive Income Podcast. I could listen to that guy talk for hours.
8:00am-8:30am: I get to work, get settled in, and grab some breakfast.
8:30am-12pm: Non-stop WORK at my corporate job.
12:00pm-12:45pm: My coworkers and I head upstairs to the gym in our office and get a quick workout in and I love it, because when else would I have time to work out?
12:45pm-1:00pm: Eat a quick lunch
1:00pm-2:00pm: Work some more
2:00pm: Standard daily coffee break! Yea, without fail, each and every single day we make some cuban coffee in the office because without it, we’d die. Like, for real. Everyone would just pass out and die because we need our cuban coffee to get through the rest of the afternoon.
And then as soon as I’ve had my fix, I pop one of these out.
These are the Listerine POCKETPAKS®, and they’re a lifesaver while I’m at work. Because after coffee comes coffee breath, right? And when I have meetings in the late afternoon, I need to get rid of that coffee breath ASAP.
These do the trick. They freshen breath on the go, dissolve instantly, and kill 99% of odor-causing bacteria in 30 seconds.
I put this right on my keychain and BAM! Fresh breath available at all times!
2:15pm-4:30pm: Work, work, and more work.
4:30pm-5:30pm: One hour commute home. Again, I use my commuting time to listen to podcasts, catch up on audiobooks, and brainstorm posts. I can’t afford to spend 2 hours a day in my car without being productive.
5:30pm-6:30pm: This is when I typically run my errands. Sometimes I need to run to the store to pick up items I need for a blog post, other times I stop by my PO Box to pick up mail. It seems that there’s always something. This whole adulting thing has me exhausted.
6:30pm-7:30pm: Me time, baby! I need at least an hour each day to just totally unwind. This is when I take a bubble bath, grab a glass of wine, or sit down on my couch watching Netflix. Self-care is important, so I’m really glad to have just a few minutes to myself each day.
7:30pm-8:00pm: At this point, Joe and I are usually eating dinner. Sometimes it’s a little earlier, sometimes a little later, but we typically take turns cooking a quick and easy meal and then help each other clean up the kitchen. Teamwork!
8:00pm-11:00pm: Blog time. Right now, it’s 11;36pm as I write this post, so you see…I often go way beyond my scheduled time. This is really the only time in the day when I get to catch up on my side hustle. My blog needs attention, my book needs attention, so yea, there’s lots to do!
If I’m not writing an actual post, I’m editing guest posts. If I’m not doing that, I’m taking photos and editing them on Photoshop. I’m also replying to e-mails and sending out e-mails. I’m also applying to campaigns so I can keep some money coming my way.
Point is, it never stops. There’s always more that needs to be done whether it’s creating marketing materials or engaging with my followers via social media. But at some point, I have to get to bed, I can’t stay up forever. So at some point in the night, I close my laptop and call it a day.
11:00pm-ISH: Bedtime. Even if I’m not tired, I try to be in bed by 11pm every night, and if I can’t sleep, I take out a book, and get some reading in. Again, as an entrepreneur/blogger, you NEVER STOP LEARNING, so any chance you get to read up on something that interests you, you take it! Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert does an amazing job of motivating me to keep creating!
As you can see, I don’t have a lot of downtime, but I’m absolutely loving my life at the moment and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
So here’s to living a bold life my friends!
Here’s to chasing after your dreams!
Once you realize that there’s nothing stopping you from going after them but yourself, the possibilities are endless!
So do it! Make it happen! And then come tell me all about it.
And to remind you about living boldly, and to motivate you to take action, here’s a free printable!
Print it out, hang it up on your wall, hang it up by your mirror. Whatever works, for you, friend!
Then, do yourself a favor and head over to Walmart to pick up some Listerine so you can start off every day with bold flavor. You can click here for a coupon. $1 off their products.

Congratulations on the book. What a huge accomplishment. Wish I had something like it when I was in my 20’s. #client
This makes my day look almost comically empty by comparison… I’m really impressed at what you do! Looks like I need to step up my game a little.
Same here! We can accomplish so many things if we manage our time well
