Let’s face it…as a new mom, I don’t get much free time to myself. Like, ever.
That being said, I’m super lucky because I have a ton of family support, so the other day I headed over to my mom’s house for a very much needed mom’s day away!
My mom has a pool in her backyard, so I decided that’d be the perfect place to sit back, relax, and totally unwind while Riley got to spend some quality time with her grandma.
That’s what I call a win-win situation for everyone. My mom got to hang out with Riley, Riley got to be spoiled by grandma, and I got to spend the afternoon sipping some MUCH NEEDED JaM Cellars wine.
Ever since Riley was born, I haven’t been the best at scheduling “me-time” for myself, but man…this was glorious. I mean, dude! I work hard! I work like a freaking maniac all the time. So a little R&R like this is exactly what I needed.
Now I love me a tall glass of JaM Cabernet, but I normally save my red wine for dinner. Regardless, if you’re looking for a nice glass of cab, run and get yourself a bottle of this one because it’s absolutely delicious – bursting with lush berry flavor – aka, it’s bomb.
But again, since I was outside soaking up the last bit of Florida summer, I opted for something a little lighter and I grabbed me a cold glass of Butter.
You know how sometimes you don’t know what you’ve been missing until you experience it? Yeaaaaa… that’s kind of how I felt on this day. Like seriously, I need one of these mom breaks AT LEAST once a month because it left me feeling like a whole new woman!
I got to spend the day relaxing, getting some sun, reading a book, and just clearing my mind for once!
And yea… I also did the most basic thing I could have possibly done – hung out in the pool on a flamingo float. Crossed that off my #SummerBucketList!
It’s crazy to think that I live in Miami, Florida but hardly ever spend time at the beach or in the pool. I guess that comes with the territory of being a work-from-home mom, though. I’m usually inside, on the computer, working on my blog and business.
This was a much-needed reminder to take a break every once in a while and treat myself to a little fun in the sun.
But back to the Butter….it’s exactly what the doctor ordered, friends.
It melts in your mouth, it’s creamy + delicious, and has a super yummy vanilla finish to it that this mama absolutely loves.
So as we wrap up this summer, treat yo self to a day that’s all about YOU. No stress. No worries. Turn off your phone for a few hours and just BE.
Believe me, it does so much good for the soul.
Btw, eventually Riley did join me because that’s mom life for ya.
As much as I enjoyed my much-needed break, after a few hours I missed my baby girl and couldn’t wait to cuddle with her.
She loves it. I love it. And after a mom break like the one I had, I was totally rejuvenated and ready to go back to my mom duties.
The fact that she’s so darn cute definitely helps!
