Thank you, Clipix, for sponsoring today’s post. As always, all opinions are mine alone.
This is what my desktop normally looks like:
It’s ridiculous, really.
It’s not even like I can find anything with all that mess.
But that desktop is a true reflection of what my brain feels like most days.
I’ve got five hundred million thoughts running through my head, and I need to save them all, somewhere.
I take screenshots of everything.
I’ll be online and I’ll see something that I like, and I’ll take a screenshot, hoping that if I do that, I’ll remember to come back to it.
Does that usually happen? Um… no.
Because I can’t find anything, ever.
So I forget about it, and move on with my life, and that’s what my desktop looks like until I look at it one day and have a fit because I can’t find anything.
On that day, pretty much everything goes straight to the trash. Goes to trash. Trash gets empty. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $100. No more stuff.
But I found a way to fix all of this, and I’m really excited about starting the New Year off on the right foot.
It’s called Clipix, and it’s how I’m going to organize my life from now on.
You can sign up online with your Facebook account… three seconds and you’re good to go.
Clipix is awesome because you can be shopping online and see something you like, and instead of taking a screenshot, you can save that item to a list that you create.
You can add the Clipix browser extension, and that makes pretty much anything clip-able.
Like this laptop bag that I’m obsessed with.
I was doing some online shopping/daydreaming and I found this gorgeous Kate Spade laptop bag.
Normally, you already know what I’d do with it… Ctr + Shift+ 3, I’d take a snapshot and it’d end up on my desktop, where all the other snapshots go to die.
But this time, I wanted to save it somewhere where I’d be likely to remember how much I loved it, so that when Joe asks me later on in the year… “hey babe, what do you want for your birthday?’ I’d actually have something to tell him.
So I saved it onto my Birthday List 2016 Clipboard, along with a few other things I found that day.
You can see the prices of everything right at a glance, and you can also share the stuff on your clipboard with anyone you’d like. I’ll be e-mailing this to Joe later in August, and he’ll love it so much since I’ll have done all the hard work for him.
This would have made my Christmas shopping so much easier, btw. Next year, it’s a must.
I also added a few more clipboards…
One for stuff I want to buy for the house in general…
And one for all the stuff I want to buy for my home office…
And yep, those are my three clipboards at the moment! I’m sure I’ll be adding a whole lot more.
Now that I’m actually able to keep all of my must-haves in one place, it’s going to make my shopping a whole lot easier, and my brain won’t feel like exploding all the time.
My desktop won’t be a giant screenshot graveyard, and I’ll somewhat feel like my life’s got some order in it.
Somewhat, but it’s a start!

This is an awesome idea to get organized.
What a cool website.
I will definitely have to try it out.
I usually just save everything I want on Pinterest but then the stuff gets lost on my boards so I will definitely have to try this.
