So at the start of the new year, I set a whole bunch of goals for myself. That’s what happens, usually, isn’t it?
But just like it always does, life’s been kicking my butt lately, and I’ve had zero energy and motivation to keep up with my health and fitness goals. I know, what a slacker!
But no! Today I’m hitting the re-set button, and I’m getting back to it!
And you want to know how I’m gunna stay on top of things this time?
I’m gunna use some help from my friends at Nature Made, and get started with their 30-Day Healthy Habit Builder Program.
So how does that work exactly?
Well, you pick 4 habits you wanna work on over the next 30 days, you complete challenges that help you work on those habits, and then you get prizes and coupons as rewards for making progress!
Sounds like a plan to me!
Here are some of those habits I’ll be focusing on for the next 30 days!
Taking Vitamins
I’ve never been good at taking vitamins. But for the next month and hopefully much longer than that, I’m going to be making an extra effort to incorporate these into my daily routine.
So I picked these up at Walmart and I put them right by my bathroom sink. FYI, Nature Made’s the nation’s #1 best-selling brand for quality vitamins, minerals and supplements* so you can’t go wrong with these.
Can’t miss them there!
And to make things even EASIER, I’ve put them in my super old-person pill container thing, but hey, I know how lazy I am sometimes, and this gives me ZERO excuse not to take them.
Really looking forward to seeing how they improve my energy and immune system, because I’ve been working a lot the last couple of weeks, and I know my body’s taking a toll.
So the goal here is to make vitamins just another regular part of my day. Part of getting ready, just like brushing my teeth. And that’s a habit I think is gunna make a big difference!
Cooking & Prepping Yummy Food
Now that we finally have a decent looking kitchen, Joe and I can finally cook all the time! Yea, that’s what I thought would happen. Turns out, it takes a lot of energy to cook, and without that energy, it’s just way easier to pick something up on my way home from work, or order some pizza. Freaking pizza delivery apps! But we need to make an effort to prep and cook healthy food more often.
So I’ve started looking through all my cookbooks (after blowing the dust off of them) and I’ll be doing that the next 30 days. My goal is to find at least one new recipe every week that we can try and experiment with.
And then, I’ll be working on having healthy snacks handy. Like this:
Having fresh fruit ready to eat in the fridge makes it a lot more likely that I’ll grab them than if I have to cut them and peel them when I’m hungry.
Getting More Sleep
This one is HUGEEEEEE. I feel like I’m always tired! So as part of the 30-Day Healthy Habit Builder Program, I’m setting a bedtime for myself. At 10pm, I need to be in bed. Even if I’m not tired, my butt’s getting in there. This way, I can at least wind down and get some kind of rest.
I even bought this foaming bath with Lavender that I can use every once in a while to help relax me before bed. Can’t wait to try it!
Journaling
Some people think that wellness is all about what you eat and how much you exercise, but mental health and wellness is just as important! So for the next 30 days, I’m gunna give journaling a shot, and see if that helps center me a bit.
I’ll let you guys know how it goes!
FYI, Influence Central’s hoting a contest where you guys could be one of the lucky winners of 20 $50 Walmart gift cards, to help you buy your own Nature Made vitamins and work towards your healthy habit goals. Hurry up and enter, though, because the contest closes on March 19.
