Everyone loves a good date night. Am I right?
I mean, you get all dressed up, put on tons of makeup, and wait at a nice restaurant for your food to be ready.
Right? Doesn’t that sound awesome?!
Nope…not at all. To me, that sounds absolutely God-awful right about now.
With a wedding 4 months away, packing still left to do, a full time job, and a blog to manage, I definitely have a lot on my plate right now.
So getting all dressed up and heading out of the house for a fancy-shmancy date night is the very last thing I want to do.
But I do love my future hubby.
So naturally, I want to spend all the time I can with him.
And believe me, we do have date nights. Just our OWN kind of date nights.
Here’s what one of our date nights recently looked like….
(You’re going to be super jealous!)
Since Joe has to fit into his tux and I have to fit into my wedding dress, we’ve been stepping up our workout game lately. On Monday, as soon as we got home from work, we went to work out, and then rushed back home to shower and get comfy.
There are few things I look forward to more than changing into my pjs after a long day at work.
So that’s what I did, and it was fabulous.
Usually, Joe and I play the “what do you want to have for dinner” game for about half an hour before we just decide to make ourselves sandwiches. But since I had this date night planned, there wasn’t any need for that. I had stopped by the store right before I got home.
BAM!
Digiorno’s new Pizzeria Thin pizza.
I was so happy to learn about their new Thin pizzas, since it now means that I don’t have to feel guilty about having pizza post-workout.
These new Pizzeria Thin pizzas consist of preservative-free crusts. They’e drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, and the sauce is made from scratch using vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, thyme, and oregano.
Yep, definitely better than a sandwich.
They’re topped with 100% real cheese, premium meats, super fresh vegetables, and contain no artificial flavors.
They’re also available in 4 different varieties so Joe and I don’t have to fight about him not liking whole tomatoes in his pizzas (such a weird thing to not like).
I picked up both a Primo Pepperoni and a Margherita. I’ll be saving that Margherita for one of these days when Joe works late. That baby’s all mine.
Once out of the freezer, I preheated the oven to 375 and baked the pizza for about 16 minutes. Didn’t take much time at all. Before I knew it, pizza was ready, and thank goodness, because I’m a starving human after I work out.
So there’s me, comfy as ever, about to feast on my pizza.
Reluctantly, I had to share with Joe. But I did, because he’s kind of cute.
And then this one wanted a piece too! Graham always joins in on our date nights.
The pizza was delicious, FYI. Extremely fresh and light. Perfect for Joe and I to split. Digiorno’s actually so confident that you’ll like their new pizzas, that they’re offering a “Love It Or It’s Free Guarantee.” Like their pizza, or you get a refund. So really, there’s no reason not to try it.
Joe was feeling extra nice that night and he saved me the last piece. That’s how I know that he loves me.
So after a stress-free meal relaxing on the couch watching TV, I turned to him and gave him that look.
That, “hey babe I love you and I love spending time with you, but now I need to blog” look.
And I didn’t even have to say a word. He just handed me my computer.
I love that I get to marry him. Because he’s cute, and smart, and totally gets how obsessed I am with this blogging community. And more than that, he eats pizza with me and doesn’t make me feel bad about it…not one single bit.
We loved Digiorna’s new Pizzeria Thin pizza! Would LOVE to hear what you guys think. And I’d also love to know what your idea of a perfect date night is. Feel free to share in the comments!

I don’t eat meat or dairy (dairy VERY sparingly) but Pizza is seriously a great date night meal. Ritch and typically make our own personal pizzas since he does in fact eat meat and chese, and I prefer tons of sauce and him… not so much. This DIgiornios pizza does seem pretty great as far as frozen pizza ingredients go! P.S Those pjs look super comfy
Sounds like my date nights with my hubby- date nights are few and far between with a toddler. I’ll have to try the thin pizza- margherita is my favorite!
aint no shame in frozen pizza. Right on!!
You two just look so cute together!
Here at home we usually also discuss so much about what to eat, and end up choosing the least interesting dishes ever, like premade soup. I certainly need to up my culinary abilities!
You guys are so cute! I’m always super careful about what I eat after a workout too, but this seems like the perfect compromise between delicious and not terrible for you!
I actually have a Digiorno pizza in my freezer right now. It might be my dinner tonight! Agree with you on not wanting to get dressed up as much these days–I’m all about being comfy.
I buy a frozen pizza at least once a week. So easy and delicious!
I could seriously go for some pizza right now, and it’s barely 11 am. I wish i had some stashed in my freezer! And girl, enjoy those real date nights while you can, because once babies start arriving, date nights out will become few and far between! What I wouldn’t give to get dressed up and go out with my man right now 🙂 Then again, I’m such a homebody, that relaxing on the couch with some pizza is a pretty great night, too!
That sounds like the perfect date night to me. I did not know they had thin crust! I will be adding those to my shopping list. Thank you for sharing! And also, I love your save the date card. Gorgeous!
This sounds like the best date night ever! And inexpensive, which is right up my alley. 🙂

Looks like a pretty stellar date night! My boyfriend and I like making our own pizzas. We use tortilla shells for the crust, and that way we can control exactly what goes on them 🙂
I’m a gluten-free and dairy-free girl myself but I am all about date nights in with my hubby! Sometimes they are even BETTER than the fancy-schmancy nights out! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
Can I just start off by saying this is one of the best, most thought-out, relevant, and funny sponsored posts I’ve ever read? I love how you seamlessly incorporated this into a date night post. It’s funny and witty, and now I’m STARVING. Plus my fiancé and I have been working out together too, and literally just last week I was complaining about how I would kill for a pizza! This is actually a perfect solution. Thanks, Kayla!
Coming Up Roses
Love this idea! My partner and I are always trying to save time and money, so this looks like a nice solution. Thanks for sharing 🙂

It sounds like a perfect date night to me! Graham made it even more special!
I love Digorno’s pizza so much but I definitely need to try this lighter one since I am trying to eat healthier.
Thanks so much for sharing and I love date nights in as well.

This sounds like the perfect date night, in my opinion! My boyfriend and I do this all the time – we grab something quick and easy to make and eat, and settle on the couch to watch WWE… lol
xx Lauren
that pizza actually looks delicious! xx, kenz

What a cute date night idea! Thanks for sharing!
Awe. You guys are too cute. A date night in with pizza sounds perfect to me too. Thanks for the pizza review. We’ll have to try it.
You are the CUTEST. I just wanted to drop by and tell you.
So fun! Me and my hubs love watching movies when the kids go to bed… our date nights include alot of Netflix and cuddling. 😉
We love Digiorno pizza, it’s the only kind of frozen pizza we buy. 🙂 And I’m kind of the opposite of you, I mean, we’re busy and tired all the time, but if I had the chance to actually go out kid-free with my husband I’d jump at it. But most of our date nights look like yours right now. Oh well, it’s just our season of life I guess. 🙂
As a lover of thin crust pizza and someone on the go, I will have to give this a try. Im always a little hesitant about frozen pizza but looks like you guys had a lovely night.
Cute! My husband and I have a pizza night every Friday night. Sometimes we make it together. Sometimes we go out for it. And sometimes it comes from the freezer. But it’s become a weekly tradition for us!
My husband and I have been married for over 30 years and many of our date nights still consist of pajamas and frozen pizza! Enjoy!
Looks like your little kitty enjoyed date night! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love a good date night in! They are the best!
I absolutely love date nights that involve comfy clothes. We were just saying tonight that we need more date nights during the week. Our work schedules have been the complete opposite, so we’re looking forward to some board games, movies, popcorn, and pizza nights! 🙂
you cannot go wrong with pizza. because we dont live by family and have no friends (we’re so cool), my huz and i normally watch a movie or shows and have some fun snack. we’re wild, i know? but going out to eat as a family is probably my fav thing to do.
The pizza looks really good! Date night in is always fun!
Looks simply perfect! We love frozen pizza in our house. sometimes I will take a plain cheese pizza and add left over chicken and sliced zucchini. Also for the hot nights where I do not want to turn on the oven? I throw a thin crust onto the grill – works perfectly!
You two are the cutest! I laughed super hard reading this post because Trevor and I do the same thing, play the “what do you want for dinner” game for a half hour before we give up and make a sandwich or pizza!! Lol!!
Hubby and I love to have pizza for our date night! We are millennials too, and I’m all about anything that is fast and easy to make. For date night, I want to spend as much time as I can with the hubby (rather than be stuck in the kitchen making a complicated meal)
You guys are so cute! With a toddler and a 1 year old, our date nights are few and far between! Our go to date night food tends to be more on the ice cream side of things since we end up eating with the kids before they go to bed. Our toddler calls friday nights family date night as we all have pizza together 🙂
I just saw these pizzas in the store, now I totally want to go back and buy them!
I am not a huge fan of going out. I would much rather stay home, order a pizza…or bake one, and sit home to relax and watch a movie. My husband and I are both always on the go. Being at home makes for a much more relaxing date than having to go somewhere and wait.
