Alright guys, today I’m writing about my two favorite things on this universe…WINE AND CHEESE!
I swear to God, I must have been a mouse in a different lifetime because I could easily eat cheese all day. LOVE IT! And paired with the right wine? OMG best combo ever!
So last night I was home alone and I decided to have a little wine and cheese party all by myself! Is it bad that I was kind of happy that Joe couldn’t join me? MORE CHEESE FOR ME!
I ran to the grocery store earlier in the day and I picked up a whole bunch of stuff for my wine and cheese party. I grabbed my two favorite varieties of Sutter Home wines – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with some crackers, grapes, nuts, cheese, and prosciutto.
Now I come from a Cuban background, and we love to “picar.” At almost any of our get togethers- birthday parties, baptisms, house warming, you name it- we’ve usually got quite a good spread of food and we’ve always got cheese, crackers, (and pastelitos).
So this right here guys is all I need to be happy!
Now if you haven’t tried Sutter Home wines, you HAVE to.
With so many different varieties, there’s something for everyone, and they’re NOT EXPENSIVE. I think each of the bottles I bought were less than $6, and dude- that’s a pretty awesome way to spend $6 if you ask me.
Anyway, I wanted to pair each of the wines with some cheeses that would complement their flavors, so I bought Gouda, Sharp Cheddar, and Colby Jack cheese.
I did a bit of research before grabbing the cheeses, and I learned that Gouda pairs particularly well with Merlot.
I also learned that Sharp Cheddar paris particularly well with Cabernet Sauvignon.
And the Colby Jack? Well, I just love Colby Jack and if you ask me, it pairs just fine with just about anything!
So yea, that was my not-so-fancy wine and cheese party for one, and I absolutely loved it.
I love that Sutter Home wines make everyday occasions like this one feel a little more special .
And I mean, they HAVE to be doing something right if they’ve been around for 65 years!
So this summer, make Sutter Homes your go-to wine for all your entertaining needs. Have a wine tasting with your friends, have your OWN wine and cheese party, and ENJOY IT!
And hey, if you want to pour yourself a glass after a HARD LONG DAY AT WORK, well that’s fine too!
I’m off to drink mine now!
